Introduction
I have had both sets of grandparents celebrate their Golden wedding anniversary (50 years). One made it to 60 years along with an Aunt and Uncle! My sister is celebrating her 25th anniversary this year, which is silver. Half way there! So, I thought I would see how the Bible celebrates silver.

How silver became associated with a 25th anniversary is beyond me. Perhaps, it started with the woman who lost one piece of silver and threw a party when she found it. It would have been better if the parable had started with 25 pieces of silver, but maybe the tradition started with the silver anniversary as the 10th. Then, over time, the organizers pushed it back to 25 as the celebrations were just getting too darn expensive.

Conclusion Of The Whole Matter
There are plenty of verses from which to choose on silver. However, most of them are in the Old Testament. Jesus only mentions silver twice, and most of the New Testament references are to the story of Judas betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, which occurs only in Matthew.
